Aaron I really wanted to like this. I live Zendaya but this movie was really hard to get through. It just dragged on and on. I don’t think the back and forth timeline did a good job at setting the stage for the conflict. The characters weren’t that likable that you actually cared. Not sure how this movie is getting the good reviews. It really just drags on and on. Rated 1/5 Stars • Rated 1 out of 5 stars 04/27/24 Full Review Cathy A very enjoyable movie with a fine cast. One of the last tennis scenes of the movie was incredible! Rated 4/5 Stars • Rated 4 out of 5 stars 04/27/24 Full Review Conner B I was expecting it to be everything i loved: Tennis & polyamory. The polyamory one didn’t play out like I expected, but I feel this movie touches upon a much needed genre of movie, one that appeals and targets late 20s & early 30s. We’re always thinking about how to recover from the sins of our adolescence and college-age years. Flashbacks could provide a HUGE plot device for that genre, and Challengers gives an example of that! Lots of us are unhappy with the “settling down” script pushed onto us, and I want movies that center us and the quarter life crisis & post-adolescence. Challengers lays the ground for that I like to believe. Rated 4/5 Stars • Rated 4 out of 5 stars 04/27/24 Full Review Jay Kay Decent story. Some characters didnt express true motives on screen very well. The story lines and flashbacks got confusing sometimes. Somewhat ambiguous ending, but not in a good way. The two dudes had amazing chemistry and really held the film together. Rated 2.5/5 Stars • Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 04/27/24 Full Review Ray J. E Walked out after 45 minutes. Was really hoping to like this. The cast was great! The score - chefs kiss. Zendaya was giving force to be reckoned with. However the movie was so frustratingly slow and hopped around chronologically at least 3 or 4 times within those first 45 minutes that it struggled to keep my attention. Couldn’t do it unfortunately. Rated 1/5 Stars • Rated 1 out of 5 stars 04/27/24 Full Review J M The story doesnt go anywhere. Depressing. Challengers | Rotten Tomatoes (1) Adam Nayman The Ringer At 131 minutes, Challengers is certainly inflated, but it moves swiftly thanks to the ace editing by Marco Costa. The cutting has to be clever in order to complement the screenplay’s structure... I’ve never seen tennis filmed more beautifully or effectively.
