Fresco y Mas
The grand opening of Tampa's new Fresco y Mas store.
Tampa’s Hispanic population has been steadily growing for well over a decade now, and Fresco Y Más grocery store is here to meet the increased demand for Caribbean and South American food.
The third Tampa location of the Hispanic-focused grocery store is set to open at 7851 Palm River Rd. on Nov. 3 and serve the Clair-Mel City, Green Ridge Estates and Winston Park Improvements neighborhoods. Fresco y Más will take over the space once occupied by Harveys Supermarket (both Harveys and Fresco y Más are owned by SouthEastern Grocers).
Southeastern Grocers, which also owns Winn Dixie, announced the opening of Tampa’s new Fresco y Más last month, but has not yet confirmed a grand opening date.
Like its other two locations, it will have signs in both English and Spanish and offer a wide variety of Latin American produce, but this new Brandon store will also have a fresh on-site butcher or “Carnicería”, a Hispanic bakery offering custom desserts, and a cafe serving breakfast, coffee and other snacks.
Visit the other two Fresco Y Más Tampa locations at 4056 N Armenia Ave. and 8424 Sheldon Rd. to get a (literal) taste of what's to come soon. When the new Tampa and Deltona locations eventually open, Fresco y Más will have a total of 28 grocery stores in Florida.
