Ultimate Paleo Super Bowl Recipes (2024)

In 2012, I confessed that I have a weakness for NFL football playoffs and awards shows. This year, for the first time ever in my life, I truly became a football fan. I read magazines and websites, I developed opinions on coaches and teams, I watched football every Sunday, and I was so very disappointed when my beloved New England Patriots lost the AFC Championship to the Denver Broncos — who, I must admit, I really, really like… because Peyton Manning

I should also be completely transparent about this: I am a somewhat fickle football fan. I have no geographical nor historical allegiance to teams. I’ve selected my favorite teams based on completely subjective criteria like whether or not I think the people involved — especially QBs and coaches — are good people or are entertaining, or at least stand for something I can get behind.

For example, I’m a fan of the Harbaugh brothers because John (Baltimore Ravens) seems like a good person and Jim (San Francisco 49ers) is so entertaining on the sidelines. Ravens? YES! OMG Jacoby Jones! I dislike the Steelers because I have thoughts about Ben Roethlisberger and Mike Tomlin. I’m blown away by Peyton Manning‘s recovery from surgery to be better than ever — and I have completely fallen for the Tom Brady+Bill Belichick show.

So Super Bowl Sunday. YES! A thousand times yes, even though my favorite-favorite team isn’t playing. Peyton Manning tops my list of good guys, so we’ll be cheering for the Broncos. And also food.

Super Bowl Food!

I love this! I am a huge football fan and watch my Oregon Ducks religiously. I watch a ton of NFL too but am similar in my thinking in that I tend to root for some local teams (Chargers, 49ers) but will always root for the good guys and against the guys whose character I disagree with. I know, a very girlie way to choose a team, so I was glad to read you are the same. But really, I am now sad football season is over because I need a good excuse to make plantain nachos. Those look ridiculous! Plantain is my all-time favorite food (always the answer to the question if you could eat one food for every day the rest of your life, what would it be?). Thank you! I can’t wait to try many of these recipes but especially this one. And go Peyton.
